Tegernseer Hell Beer

The ‘Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee’ is a brewery in Tegernsee, Bavaria, Germany. It is located inside the north wing of former Tegernsee Abbey and is owned by the Duchess of Bavaria.

The company traces its roots back to a brewery that was allegedly founded in the year 1050 on lake Tegernsee, where in 746 Benedictine Tegernsee Abbey was established.

Made according to the German Purity law, Tegernseer Hell Beer is made with local clear mountain water and selected raw Bavarian hops and malt.

Helles or Hell is a traditional German pale lager beer, produced chiefly in Southern Germany, particularly in the area of Munich - the German word hell can be translated as "bright", "light", or "pale".

This is a classic Bavarian helles - light, crisp and refreshing with notes of hay, caramel and subtle hops.
