Elephant Gin

Quinine powder was often used in British East Africa to prevent and treat diseases, particularly malaria. Quinine was very bitter so it was mixed with soda water and sugar, thus creating tonic water. Gin was soon mixed with tonic water - Gin and Tonic was enjoyed in the afternoon, no doubt watching elephants as the sun was going down.

Elephant Gin contributes 15% of all profits to the Big Life Foundation - Sybarite Cellars™ will give a further 15% from orders to support associated African Elephant conservation projects. Please read more >
